About us

About Health Insight Blog

We write for people who spend their working day standing, walking and carrying things, and who want plain information about the products that claim to make that easier.

What we cover

Our writing sits in five sections: Foot Health, Life on Your Feet, Pain & Recovery, Buying Guides, Workplace Wellbeing. Each one is written in ordinary language, with the reasoning shown rather than hidden behind jargon.

How we work

Articles are written in a personal voice by contributors who share their own experience and research. We compare products against the alternatives, we look at what something costs over a year rather than on the day you buy it, and we correct anything we get wrong.

We are not a laboratory and we do not hold clinical or professional credentials. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and the comfort and wellness products we write about are not medical devices. If you have persistent symptoms, speak to a qualified healthcare professional.

How we are funded

Health Insight Blog is reader supported and advertising supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, and if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Some articles are advertorials published as part of paid campaigns and are marked as such. Full detail is in our affiliate policy and our editorial standards.

Who writes here

Markus Berger Markus Berger writes about comfort and footwear for Health Insight Blog. He has spent nine years testing the products people stand in all day.

Rachel Donovan Rachel writes about comfort products for people who spend their working day standing. She has spent years on shop floors and in warehouses, and she tests everything she writes about in ordinary shifts rather than in a lab.

Priya Raman Priya writes about recovery routines, walking habits and the small changes that make a long day easier. She shares personal experience and general information, never medical advice.

James Ashford James is a contributing writer at Health Insights Blog. He has had flat feet his whole life, and after years of cycling through off-the-shelf insoles and one pair of £300 custom orthotics, he tests comfort and support products against his own arches.
